<p>I know this post probably doesn&#8217;t feel like it belongs here, but I enjoyed cooking the food and taking the pictures so much I just <em>had</em> to post it somewhere. In case you don&#8217;t already know: I cook a lot. Its one of my favorite hobbies. My flickr is filled with pictures of the dishes I&#8217;ve created. I thought it&#8217;d be nice to share some recipes and photos here on the blog. Today we are making Bacon-Wrapped Jalapeno Shrimp and Garlic Shrimp Scampi.<br />
<span id="more-107"></span></p>
<h2>Bacon-Wrapped Jalapeno Shrimp</h2>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/clarklab/2683748955/"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3262/2683748955_caf3e12482.jpg" width="500" height="500" alt="DSC_0127" /></a><br />
10 strips of bacon, halved</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/clarklab/2684564640/"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3190/2684564640_f295dec6d4.jpg" width="500" height="500" alt="DSC_0134" /></a><br />
5 jalapenos, seeded, cleaned and quartered</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/clarklab/2684436108/"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3075/2684436108_54997ffd5c.jpg" width="500" height="500" alt="DSC_0070" /></a><br />
Bit of garlic</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/clarklab/2684434742/"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3255/2684434742_ed4a92a873.jpg" width="500" height="500" alt="DSC_0109" /></a><br />
20 shrimp, salt and peppered</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/clarklab/2684564330/"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3293/2684564330_1aed945766.jpg" width="500" height="500" alt="DSC_0140" /></a><br />
Wrap in each strip of bacon: a tiny bit of minced garlic, a shrimp, and a piece of jalapeno</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/clarklab/2683748149/"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3075/2683748149_62341bab54.jpg" width="500" height="500" alt="DSC_0150" /></a><br />
Finished, dripping in bacon goodness</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/clarklab/2684563664/"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3235/2684563664_310f4c82e5_b.jpg" width="1024" height="1024" alt="DSC_0151" /></a><br />
Bacon in your face</p>
<h2>Garlic Shrimp Scampi</h2>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/clarklab/2684436774/"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3122/2684436774_50c25822d7.jpg" width="500" height="500" alt="DSC_0058" /></a><br />
One small onion, sliced thin</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/clarklab/2683619783/"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3094/2683619783_87d732940b.jpg" width="500" height="500" alt="DSC_0081" /></a><br />
4 tbsp butter</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/clarklab/2683619527/"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3090/2683619527_606c5ea0e7.jpg" width="500" height="500" alt="DSC_0085" /></a><br />
1/2 cup dry white wine</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/clarklab/2684436108/"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3075/2684436108_54997ffd5c.jpg" width="500" height="500" alt="DSC_0070" /></a><br />
2 tbsp garlic, diced</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/clarklab/2684435820/"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3102/2684435820_6421760d23.jpg" width="500" height="500" alt="DSC_0076" /></a><br />
Juice of 1/2 a lime</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/clarklab/2683618695/"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3189/2683618695_17f20cc8b8.jpg" width="500" height="500" alt="DSC_0092" /></a><br />
2 tbsp black pepper</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/clarklab/2684435310/"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3145/2684435310_59c802b2cf.jpg" width="500" height="500" alt="DSC_0090" /></a><br />
3 tbsp parsley</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/clarklab/2684435104/"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3224/2684435104_def80b87ca.jpg" width="500" height="500" alt="DSC_0104" /></a><br />
Combine half of the butter butter with all of the onions, white wine, garlic, lime juice, pepper, and parsley. Simmer and reduce by 2/3rds</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/clarklab/2684434742/"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3255/2684434742_ed4a92a873.jpg" width="500" height="500" alt="DSC_0109" /></a><br />
Next up, 30 medium shrimp, salt and peppered</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/clarklab/2683617361/"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3174/2683617361_6fba0c3e27.jpg" width="500" height="500" alt="DSC_0122" /></a><br />
Add shrimp to pan, stir in with the other half of the butter</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/clarklab/2684433806/"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3242/2684433806_9958ffb166.jpg" width="500" height="500" alt="DSC_0120" /></a><br />
Simmer until shrimp are cooked through (just a few minutes), should be turning a bit pink and starting to curl</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/clarklab/2683616513/"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3054/2683616513_290f080e6e_b.jpg" width="681" height="1024" alt="DSC_0146" /></a><br />
Plated with a bit more parsley</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/clarklab/2684432728/"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3075/2684432728_209dc04843_b.jpg" width="1024" height="681" alt="DSC_0145" /></a><br />
Crazy delicious</p>
<p>I&#8217;m sorry these instructions aren&#8217;t super in-depth, but I think the recipes are simple enough that the pictures do most of the work. Cooking is really all about experimenting, so if you don&#8217;t like one ingredient, use another. As long as you don&#8217;t burn it to a crisp its going to turn out delicious.</p>
